Cooper Mountain Vineyards Wows France

Cooper Mountain Vineyards was honored to participate in the American Wine Tasting held at the Hotel Crillon in Paris. Organized by the US Embassy, the tasting brought together five hundred French sommeliers, stewards, importers and distributors for five hours of tasting America's finest wines.

Cooper Mountain Vineyards poured the 1998 & 1999 Estate Reserve Pinot Noir, 2000 Meadowlark Pinot Noir, 2000 Dijon Chardonnay and the 2001 Old Vines Pinot Gris. To our delight our wines were the talk of the evening. References from previous tasters kept out table lined up with eager pallates seeking the 2001 Old Vines Pinot Gris and the full line up of our wines.

One Sommelier was so excited by our wines that he rounded up his somelliers in training so that they could taste a fine set of Oregon wines that provide a solid example of what new world producers can do.

The success of the evening left Cooper Mountain Vineyards General Manager, Dewey Weddington, and his wife Donele buzzing from the incredible response and desire for the wines. Current efforts are being made to evaluate options for export to France and the winery continues communication with the embassy.
