At half an hour drive or less, Washington County wineries are the closest to Portland. Rather than make a full day commitment to visiting the depths of wine country you can visit three to four wineries in just two hours and taste some of the finest wines Oregon has to offer.
Cooper Mountain Vineyards, Ponzi and Oak Knoll are all open seven days a week starting around noon. Other Washington County wineries include Beran, David Hill, Freja, Helvetia, Lion Valley, Raptor Ridge and Tualatin Estate. These wineries all have varying hours so it is good to call in advance to be sure you can visit.
For quick wine country excursion, consider visiting Oak Knoll first (just off Farmington on Burhalter), then Cooper Mountain (off Farmington on Grabhorn), and finish at Ponzi (just off Scholls, 210) which puts you back in town near Murray Hills in Beaverton.
